Mind

The Mind Is:

Augmented by birth;
twisted by dogma, soiled by legend, set on by hate, blasted by love, frozen with fear, tarnished with pride, dulled by greed, gnawed with envy, distempered with fury, hindered by pity, kindled by wrath, pricked by conscience, racked with despair, wrung with grief, cozened with peace, befuddled by wine, beguiled by time, enslaved by senses, suppressed by sleep, transported by dreams, preyed on by fancy, burgled in age and robbed by death;

And the soul God gave is the Devil's slave.
